Midweek CTAs
Your calls to action for the week of Jan. 14, 2026
What Do We Do When ICE Comes to Town?
A coalition of organizations is working together to put a rapid response team in place. Our goal is to learn what we can and cannot do, how to keep each other safe, and what our rights are. We will be putting together whistle kits, holding de-escalation-style trainings, and setting up a Signal channel for sharing alerts.
We will share the details through this newsletter, our Facebook page, and via email blasts.
Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.: 2026 Belongs to Us March
(🔥LOCATION CHANGE🔥)
Please note that the location for Saturday’s march has changed. We are moving east to Hardesty Park, 1615 W. Market Street. Please share with your friends; don’t assume they know!
Side note: The owners/property managers of Shops at Fairlawn and Rosemont Commons (Stark Enterprises) said that if our protesters park on their properties, they’d consider it criminal trespass. It is private property, to be fair. We have between 150 and 200 people signed up, and we typically get three times the number of signups at our protests and rallies. That would have been a lot of hungry shoppers looking for places to eat and spend money after the march. SMDH. So, we’ll take our marching feet and business eastward toward west Akron. Please patronize the local businesses after the march!
Jan. 14, 24 & 25 Phone Bank with Summit Dems
Join Summit County Democrats for a series of phone banks focused on improving the accuracy of their voter file and supporting their deep canvassing initiative. Volunteers will make calls to verify and update voter information and, when appropriate, engage in deeper conversations that help inform our ongoing organizing efforts.
